About the Muskegon Film Festival
The Muskegon Film Festival was started by a small group of local film enthusiasts who wanted to take advantage of the beautiful Frauenthal Theater to bring independent film – and a great event – to downtown Muskegon. Scheduled annually in February, The Muskegon Film Festival is a great mid-winter opportunity to "get out of the house".
The reception by the community to the festival has been truly impressive with audiences growing larger annually from both independent film enthusiasts from throughout West Michigan as well as people from the area who, before the film festival, may have never seen independent film before.
